MARTIN PARR

(awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award at
the Sony World Photography Awards in April 2017)

We are delighted to have this exhibition in Ludlow!

Martin was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award as recognition of the impact he has had over more than 40 years both on photography and on photographers.

A special exhibition of his work was shown at Somerset House in London as part of the Sony World Photography Awards.

That exhibition has now come to the Photo Space in Ludlow. It opened on

Saturday 1 July 2017.

Martin will be visiting us on Saturday 23 September 2017. He will give a talk in the evening in the main auditorium of Ludlow Assembly Rooms around a number of events - more details in our Newsletter.

Martin is Past President of Magnum International, the agency founded by Robert Capa and Henri Cartier Bresson. 2017 is Magnum's 70th anniversary, and major exhibitions are being held in New York, London and Paris ... and Ludlow.

Stay in touch with our e-newsletter for more details.

Bookings are being taken now for our newest workshop:

TREES AND LANDSCAPE AT STOKESAY COURT

The Location is exceptional - the beautiful gardens, grounds and pools of Stokesay Court, Onibury, Shropshire.

The grand house and its gardens were the setting for the film "Atonement".

With the kind permission of Caroline Magnus, the owner of Stokesay Court, this new series of four workshops is an opportunity for keen photographers to follow a journey of how trees and their landscape change through the seasons.

Delivered by Claire Carter (cARTerART) and Peter Jones (the Photo Space), the workshops are an excellent opportunity for serious photographers to develop or hone a wide range of photography skills: sunrise or sunset hours; low light; landscape; long exposure; use of filters; shooting into the light; reflections on water; close-up and macro; pros and cons of normal, wideangle and telephoto lenses.

The four workshops follow the seasons:
Autumn workshop: Wednesday, 25 October 2017
Winter workshop: Wednesday, 24 January 2018
Spring and Summer workshops dates to be confirmed.

Bookings can be made for individual workshops or for more than one workshop at special, reduced prices.
